Hope

1 Timothy 6:17 says “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”  

If the global financial crisis taught us anything, it was that wealth is indeed fleeting, uncertain, and not to be relied on for security. We need to put our hope and trust in God. It is He Who is our security, He Who is our salvation, and He Who is our protector and provider. 

We should put our trust in the eternal certainties and then see them manifest here. As we grasp less for the here and now, we receive more here. It is a paradox but a heavenly one.
